But when they realized that Ted actually knew what he was doing, they were all very relieved to find a nice boat landing, where the canoe trailer could pull right up to.  Otherwise if they would have landed the canoes at the campsite it would have been a quarter mile hike to portage the canoes to the parking lot.  (Not that any of the Scouts thanked Ted for spending a day a couple weeks earlier driving up through all the campsites to discover these little details :-).
