The other group of Scouts had gone to the garden and picked carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and onions for dinner.  Some of them were huge, and the Scouts had picked so many that there was no way they could eat them all that night.  All extras were given back to the Harnacks in appreciation of everything they had done for us.
