To burn all of the green buckthorn we were going to need a really hot fire, otherwise the green wood would just smother it.  One slight problem we had was that the Scouts had put a whole bunch of dead leaves in the fire as well, and there were burning embers floating down all over the place.  You can see one in this picture.  Several landed on the Scouts and resulted in a sudden burst of movement.
