We also passed by some places where the NPS people had cleared the snow from the road through giant drifts.

The little sign to the right of the van says "Danger!  Unstable Snow!  Keep Away!!  Parking under or climbing on snow could cause severe injury or death".   The NPS people have probably seen it all on this road.
