The scary thing is that you can't tell if that skillet is supposed to be black on the inside or not.

In reality it's not. That skillet was given to us by Ted's grandmother when she went into a nursing home 15 years ago. She was tickled at the thought of her dishes continuing to feed hungry boys. The skillet is supposed to have a nice anti-stick lining, but that was scraped off long ago. Theoretically you wouldn't use metal spatuals in it, but we can see how well that works.
