One of the Scouts asked why we had hauled the canoes all the way from the edge of the river up to our campsite. The problem is that we were just down river from the dam at Taylor's Falls. Occasionally they let more water through it, and the river level comes up FAST when that happens. You don't want to leave a canoe right by the water or you can wake up in the morning and find it's gone, (been there, done that).
