We used all of our big pots to haul water, as well as a garbage bin, and poured dozens and dozens and dozens of gallons of water on the thing until it was completely out.

It was a good lesson for the Scouts about A) putting your fires out completely before you leave, and B) how seemingly smart people can still do dumb things.
